During this fantastic art class, you will be taught by experts and will learn to think and see like an artist. You will learn all about the important mental processes and physical techniques that are so essential for observational drawing. Drawing will be broken down into two different areas that you will study (line and tone), and this simple approach will encourage your understanding and enable you to emulate what you have learnt very quickly. Understanding the process of converting what we see into a 2D image on paper is essential to becoming a decent artist, and you will be surprised quite how much you can improve your drawing skills in just one day under the right tuition. This is a wonderful drawing workshop that makes a fabulous experience gift for any budding artist or an enjoyable creative activity to enjoy yourself.Your One Day Drawing Workshop at the V&A will begin with a half hour introduction where you will cover all you will be studying. During the workshop you will learn: the basic principles for recognising line, tone and scale; the importance of shading; an understanding of 'quality of line' and how this can affect your drawings; tips regarding positioning, materials, subjects and sizing; and some fun methods to help you draw in new and dynamic ways. At around 1:15pm, you will stop for an hour lunch break. Please note that lunch isn't provided in this experience. After lunch you will have more drawing and discussion time before the session concludes at 5:15pm.
