Bamboo Panpipes

Description Transport yourself to the Andes with the beautiful sound of bamboo panpipes. Admittedly it is not as easy as it looks, but after 4 hours of practice every day for an entire year I am now able to play a reasonable rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". You may do better. These beautiful Bamboo Panpipes are handcrafted in Bali, Indonesia. Rest assured that in the making of this instrument the men and women artisans were properly paid and can develop their art and pass on the craft to their children. Bamboo is 100% natural and biodegradable which gives conscientious consumers real peace of mind. It is a fast-growing grass, so fast growing it can grow up to one metre a day! Once you have no further use for a bamboo product you can rest easy, knowing that it will return to the Earth leaving minimal environmental impact. IMPORTANT: While we love to encourage music with the little ones, this product is not recommended for those under 3 years old (or anybody else who likes to chew things they shouldn't). One village will tend to specialize in a certain craft e.g. some concentrate on silver, others bead work, others wood carving or bamboo work. The villagers are continually producing new designs to add to their collections. Our supplier supports the development of their craft by paying a fair price to enable the artisans to source new materials and tools. He personally visits the small family businesses and maintains regular contact.
