What we are hoping is that some intrepid ornithologist will, out of curiosity perhaps, order this piece and be kind enough to drop us a line. These Bird Whistles are easy to use. You simply blow in the end while sliding the inside to produce wonderful rising and falling pitches. With practice, the birds you mimic will be flocking (or fleeing). Handmade and fair trade, these make fine, fun ornaments in addition to attracting flocks of some sort of bird to your backyard sanctuary. One village will tend to specialize in a certain craft e.g. some concentrate on silver, others bead work, others wood carving or bamboo work. The communities are continually producing new designs to add to their collections. Our supplier supports the development of their craft by paying a fair price to enable the artisans to source new materials and tools. He personally visits these small family businesses and maintains regular contact.
