Archery And Bird Of Prey Experience Bedfordshire

Archery Experience Days: The ancient and noble sports of archery and falconry really go hand in hand, and this experience combines the two into a wonderful half day. The Bedfordshire bird of prey centre is the largest of its kind in the UK, and is home to over 200 different beautiful birds, including a variety of eagles, owls, hawks and much more. You will spend half of your 3 hour experience getting up close with some of these majestic creatures, handling them and even free flying them under the watchful eye of your expert falconer guide. You will then move on to archery and crossbows - and don't worry, it is kept well away from where the birds are! You will half an hour and a half to practice your aim and precision, all with guidance from your highly experienced guide.You will arrive at the Bedfordshire bird of prey centre to meet your falconer and the rest of your group. Over a cup of tea or coffee you will meet the rest of your group before heading off around the bird of prey centre, lead by your experienced falconer guide. You will encounter a number of stunning birds of prey, spending an hour and a half with the falconer learning all about their habits and movements, as well as donning your leather glove and handling some of them! You then move on to the archery and crossbows. For the remaining hour and a half of your experience you will learn the ancient art of archery, as well as trying your hand at the menacing-looking crossbow! Your instructor will help you improve throughout the session, and don't worry - you won't be shooting anywhere near the birds!
