    Antique H-269 Czech Armchair by Jindrich Halabala

    Born 1903 in Koryčany, Czechia, Jindrich Halabala brought mass market production of furniture to Czechoslovakia. He grew up training to become a cabinetmaker at his father’s joinery workshop before entering the state-owned woodworking school in Valašské Meziříčí in 1920. Halabala's designs drew from Czech cubism, Art Deco and classic European mid-century modern and included chairs, tables, sideboards, lamps and more. Due to his contribution to and execllence in furniture and interior design, the Czech Republic now host an anual award in his name. Our H-296 armchair was made during the 1940's and has since been fully refurbished in a beautiful grey woven fabric. This item is rare and unique and a true invesment piece.
